FDA Issues Warning Over Spinal Corticosteroid Injections
According to the Los Angeles Times the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning that corticosteroid injections “in the spine’s epidural space” may “in rare cases” cause “loss of vision, stroke, paralysis and death.” The injections are commonly used to treat “radiating back or neck pain,” the article noted. The paper pointed out that although many patients and doctors “swear by the treatment for back and neck pain,” those injections have “never been shown safe and effective in clinical trials assessed by the FDA.”
Consider a course of chiropractic care for back and neck pain. These have been shown to be more effective than injections. Chiropractic care is the government’s first choice of treatment for back pain. Go with a safe treatment. Chiropractic care isn’t alternative, it’s the primary treatment for back and neck pain. Don’t risk your health with injections, call today for safe, effective relief with chiropractic care.
