Everyday I see patients with neck pain and neck tension. With the chiropractic adjustment, their neck pain and tension disappears! It’s truly amazing!
Why do people get neck pain?
Neck pain is often caused by poor posture. The “deep neck flexors” are the stability muscles for your neck. These live in the front of your neck and hold up your head, which probably weighs about 12 pounds! When they are weak it changes the ideal alignment of your head, jaw, neck, shoulders, and upper back. Extendedsitting and driving or repetitive movements add to postural stress in your neck. On top of your daily wear and tear, accidents, falls, and blows to your head all add to improper alignment and pressure in your neck.
These stresses cause restrictions in motion of your spine, shorten and tighten the neck muscles, and disrupt nerve and blood flow. That’s why it’s hard to turn your head all the way to the side or touch your ear to your shoulder. Many people don’t even realize how much motion they are missing in their neck or that’s it’s possible to get neck pain relief! Some people feel neck stiffness but they think that’s normal. It’s NOT! Stiffness means you are restricted and need a chiropractic adjustment.
When I was a teenager, I couldn’t turn my head to the right and could feel a big bump next to my spine. I ran to my pediatrician and she told me that I was fine. I wasn’t FINE! I couldn’t turn my head! I didn’t know it then but I needed an adjustment.
When you see someone turn their body instead of their head because they’ve lost neck motion, tell them they need a chiropractic adjustment! When you and your family member’s are stiff or feel pain or notice tightness or tension, you’re overdue for an adjustment.
Keep your body working at 100%! We often don’t appreciate our health until it’s gone. Be healthy today, get neck pain relief with chiropractic treatment!

Last summer, I woke up one day with a stiff neck. I managed to work through the pain and eventually it went away (about 3 weeks). Something similar happened last month and I decided to see a chiropractor right away. This time, the pain went away in just a few days. I like that you talked about what causes these problems. Thanks for sharing! Chiropractic works and is the way to go for sure.

Wow, I had no idea neck injuries could be so damaging to a person’s quality of life. And especially considering it can be caused by something as simple as poor posture, something nearly all of us are guilty of to some degree. And I completely agree with your statement that we rarely appreciate our health before it goes, which is why it’s so important to deal with minor issues before they become big problems. Thanks so much for writing!

Thanks for this helpful post on neck pain treatment. I have been having some really annoying neck pain over the last few days. I don’t really know where it came from, but it could have been because of bad posture while at work. I will have to consider going to a chiropractor to see if I can get relief. Thanks for the help!

This is some great information, and I appreciate your point that poor posture is a major reason for neck pain. I’ve been having some issues with neck pain ever since I started my desk job, and I didn’t realize that the way I’m sitting is likely the cause of it. I’m going to be visiting a professional, but I’ll definitely try to adjust my posture to help with this as well. Thanks for the great post!
