Neck pain is often caused by poor posture. The "deep neck flexors" are the stability muscles for your neck. These live in the front of your neck and hold up your head, which probably weighs about 12 pounds! When they are weak it changes the ideal alignment of your head, jaw, neck, shoulders, and upper back. Extended sitting and driving or repetitive movements add to postural stress in your neck.
